Hello good morning, I am rusavastatin and have little or no side effects. I was originally on atorvastatin which caused me immense side effects and I was taken off it because it caused liver disfunction. My Consultant at Liverpool Chest & Heart Hospital originally suggested rusavastatin taken every other day.

I have been taking this as prescribed since last July with no problems other than I do not sleep very well. The Cardio Rehab team want me to take my statin every day now which I have been doing recently and they suggested that I took the statin early in the day, lunchtime with food to see if that helps with the sleeping. They suggested if I encounter problems to go back to alternate days.

Hi, yes I have been taking 80mg of Simvastatin and 10mg of Ezeterol for quite a few years now with no noticeable side effects. My total cholesterol is between 5 and 5.2 and I feel reasonable well. As well as FH I have asthma and arthritis. I just try to keep my life well balanced and positive.

Hello. This question was asked of me by the Pharmacist as he handed over my prescription for 80mg Atorvastatin plus 10mg Ezetrol. None i said. I stopped running 2 years ago due to painful Claudication in the right calf muscle. Now i manage to hobble 25mls.per week.

It does go to show how different we all are in our reaction to medication. I had an almost allergic reaction to just 10mg of rosuvastatin..maybe I could have tolerated 5mg I don't know because I didn't want to try it.

Yes, I have had 15 years on Atorvastatin and am grateful that it allowed me to have a normal life, with the proviso of leading a healthy lifestyle. I was on various stations before that but they were not as effective. My untreated level was 12 mmol/l so treatment is essential.

Hi

I have been on Atrorvastatin, with no side effects that i could pin to the statin, but i came off them as i have seen what they can do. Unfortunately LDL levels shot up so i will have to go back on.

It seems to me that they either do or don't have side effects with different people, which is similar to most other drugs.

I make the wrong cholesterol, I have always eaten healthy and I was put on statins 6 years ago 40 mg tablets and have never had any side effects the only concern is I cannot get my weight down. Do statins stop weight loss?

Back in 2007 I was put on Simvastatin after having a heart bypass. Within two months I was having really bad muscle pains. Apparently this statin was known to sometimes have this side effect. My GP decided to stop the Statin temporarily to see what happened. Although the muscle pain did reduce it didn't completely go. It was not until around two years later that there seemed the liklihood that I might have Fibromyalgia especially with all the symptoms I was experiencing. I did in the end have a statin reinstated and am now on Atorvastatin and am having no side effects with this at present.

I have been taking 40mg rosuvastatin for nearly 2 years - and on reflection i think my memory is not as good and i can feel lethargic but am not sure whether this is the statin effect as i am also taking other medications e.g a beta blocker ( i am only 44 by the way ! )
